An Introduction to Affiliate Internet Marketing

One of the many types of business you can do as a Web marketer is affiliate Internet marketing. This is often one of the first ventures beginners delve into because as an affiliate, you are selling a product that has already been created by someone else. Much of the hardest work has been done for you. Your only task is to make sales, for which you earn a percentage. The percentage differs from program to program. Some products might net you 50 percent while others only 8 percent per sale(these are hypothetical examples not actual figures,) so shop around.

There are many successful affiliate networks with a variety of products and programs you can choose to promote. One example is Clickbank, which offers digital information products and software. There are some Clickbank affiliates that are making a very good living promoting their chosen products because they understand how to best promote them. You will find Clickbank to have a massive variety of categories and individual products to select from.

Another affiliate network is Linkshare. This network has some of the biggest advertisers in the business and many of their affiliate programs are commission per sale. Some are commission per lead. A few of the hottest names represented by Linkshare include drugstore.com, beauty.com, eHarmony, The Body Shop and so many others. No matter what niche you're in this company has something for you to sell and plenty of great promotional materials.

You may also want to take a look at Commission Junction, who is another leading affiliate company. They also have a wide variety of big name advertisers as well as those that are lesser known. Although this network is very popular they do deactivate publishers who do not make commission within a certain amount of time. Also some of their programs require special approval from the program owner.

Another part of affiliate Internet Marketing is the CPA world. CPA stands for cost per action, and means when a visitor to your site or link performs the desired action (be it a sale, click or lead) you get paid. A couple of popular CPA networks include Max Bounty and Neverblue Ads. These networks are serious about their affiliates and often require a phone interview before you can be approved. Also there is certain criteria your website must meet.
